Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

Provincial Nominee Candidate eligibility

The Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is an employer driven program. The Employer and Worker Application for a Semi-Skilled Occupation (ABPNP 002) and the Application for Provincial Nomination (ABPNP 003) are required for a Semi-Skilled Worker to be considered for a nomination to become a permanent resident.

Provincial Nominee Candidates must meet the following:

  • Provincial Nominee Candidate has accepted an offer of permanent, full-time employment from an Alberta employer.

  • Provincial Nominee Candidate must ensure that the employer has completed the Employer Application - Semi-Skilled Worker Category (ABPNP 001), or that the employer has been approved for an allocation.

  • Provincial Nominee Candidate must also include a photocopy of their completed permanent residence application forms.

  • Provincial Nominee Candidate must be able to provide evidence to demonstrate that he or she meets the required qualifications for the job, which includes meeting provincial regulations and industry standards.

  • Provincial Nominee Candidate must provide proof of current status in Canada as a temporary worker.

Note: Individuals are not eligible to apply to the Alberta PNP if they are currently a refugee claimant living in Canada. It is not the mandate of the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program to interfere with the federal refugee claim, appeal or removal process.
