National Occupation Classification (NOC)

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) is Canada's standard for describing the various occupations of the Canadian workforce. The NOC was developed through a partnership of Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC, formerly Human Resources and Skills Development Canada) and Statistics Canada.

The NOC is a companion document to the National Occupational Classification for Statistics (NOC-S) publication produced by Statistics Canada. Both documents are employed in the collection and use of Canadian labour market data.

For more information about job classification see the Government of Canada National Occupational Classification (NOC) website.
